On Saturday, January 30, we dedicated the Hodge Family home at 6100 Devonshire Cove.
Jesse and Ruth Hodge have lived in section 8 housing for years, and they have always longed for a home of their own. Jesse is an older, wheel chair bound veteran, but his physical condition did not stop him from working to complete the 400 sweat equity hours required by Austin Habitat.
The house is the third to be fully sponsored by the UT chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. The young men contributed more than 1200 hours of volunteer labor in order to complete the home. We are proud to partner with this socially concious fraternity, and look forward to working with them in the years to come!
